Show Results – 2015

2015 was a great year for Christine Betz Dressage.  Catus was his usual rock star self! The King still reins! With only two shows he qualified for USDF Regionals again! He also scored his and my personal best scoring over 67%+ in Grand Prix and 75%+ in the Grand Prix Freestyle! At regionals Catus set out to prove that like fine wine, he’s improved with age. He was a handful! His passion to perform was a little difficult to channel at times but he still placed a close Third in the Freestyle and Forth in the Grand Prix! I guess the King isn’t ready to retire! Look for him next year in the GP, GPMF & the GPS. Going to aim for CBLM’s for Catus in 2016 as Regionals will be held in early September and Kitty Kat doesn’t do well in the heat or sharing the spot light with Coronado! 2015-10-17 20.55.16

Coronado really stepped up to the plate for 2015. He qualified for Regionals at I-2 and helped me to earn my USDF Gold Freestyle Bar by achieving some great scores in the I-1 freestyle. We spent 2015 learning and developing his skills and understanding for Grand Prix. At Lexington he placed 5th in the I-2 Championship, despite some errors on my part.  Additionally, he debuted in his first Grand Prix placing third in both class in spite of his greenness. So proud of this horse and how far he has come.  I am very grateful to Dale Myler of Myler Bits for all his hard work in helping make Coronado happy in his mouth to accept contact, and Custom Saddlery and Cate for getting him so well fitted in his saddle.

My Students had a great 2015! I am so privileged to have so many dedicated professionals and amateurs to work with. Kris Phelps of Crescendo Training Centre, earned her USDF Gold Medal. I have had the pleasure of coaching her up the levels with her Arabian & Half-Arabian horses and am thrilled to be a part of her success.

Karen Pikovsky of Darby Down Equestrian Centre had a banner year with CBD! wispen pvda winsIn early 2015 she purchased Wispen from me, who was training 4th Level/PSG. Mounted on Wispen she in four shows earned her USDF Bronze Medal, a life time riding goal of her’s! Looking forward to 2016 we are aiming for her Silver.  I am so proud of Karen and Wispen, they are such a wonderful partnership.

ali emma regionalsIn 2014 Ali Calkins of Forward Strides LLC, earned her Bronze Medal and in 2015 we debuted her Apendix Quarter Horse mare; I See Stars, at Fourth Level, earning scores towards her Silver medal. Ali has worked diligently all year to build the mare’s confidence in her changes and I’m confident that she will be holding her Silver Medal at the end of 2016.

Elizabeth Knight is a junior rider who for the last two years has been learning the intricacies for dressage for Coronado and me. This year she earned 3 more scores that she needed for her USDF Bronze Medal. We are looking forward to 2016 and completing this important goal for Elizabeth.

Congratulations to Officer Sebeke Jefferson on placing second in the Nation! At his mounted police officer equitation championship in Kentucky in September. (Judged much like a dressage test) So proud to be associated with him and his department
