2016 was a big year. Coronado grew and developed in his understanding of the Grand Prix, racking up some solid score and finishing the year as Reserve Champion Region One Grand Prix Musical Freestyle, and Eighth in the Grand Prix, even though he was carrying an extra passenger, my little bun in the oven, Aubrey Betz.
An exciting development in Dressage was the acceptance by the FEI, just before the 2016 Olympics in Rio, of many of the Myler snaffles and several of the Myler curbs. Looking forward to riding Coronado in the bits he loves most, pending USEF approval as well.
Catus started the 2016 show year strong, winning his two GPMFS entered and qualifying for CBLM’s, however I decided not to compete the CBLM’s due to my growing baby bump, and let Catus retire at the top of his game, sound, strong and happy. He is now training for fitness and pleasure and teaching a few lessons a week at Motter Station Stables.
HPB Wispen, owned by Karen White-Pikovsky and myself, made a respectable PSG depute scoring mid 60%’s despite of his show nerves, and his FEI future looks bright!
